P.A.C. ORDER INSTRUCTION SHEET

TPS Customers- Please take the time to read this checklist of materials you must supply in order for us to process your order. You do not have to send payment with your order and if you are not completely satisfied with the design of your card you may cancel your order and owe nothing. If you approve your proof you may arrange for payment at that time. Payment must be received before your order ships and may be made by credit card or check. Should you wish to pay by check a due on receipt invoice will be mailed immediately allowing you sufficient time to send payment without delaying your order.

Materials you must supply to TechniGraphics to process your order:

1. COLOR PHOTO or ART (DO NOT FOLD, TRIM OR MARK YOUR PHOTO OR ART.) Photos may be supplied as glossy or matte finish photo prints. We recommend a minimum of 3x5 to a maximum of 8x10 size print for best results. Please limit size of original to a maximum of 8x10. Images larger then 8x10 may require an additional scanning charge, call for cost quote on large originals. (Avoid textured prints, such as linen finish as they may result in subtle patterns in the final work or slight loss of detail, particularly when the original is small such as a wallet size print.) Previously printed materials such as product photos from brochures etc. are acceptable but avoid small images that require enlargement. Larger printed photos (up to 8.5x11 inches) that are reduced in size for reproduction work nearly as well as a photograph with little loss in quality or sharpness. Note, you must have permission from the publisher or photographer to use photos from magazines unless they are product photos which you sell or represent (such as boat or marine products in a brochure from a boat dealer wanting the products reproduced on their P.A.C.) Also, avoid low resolution digital files - digital files need to be at least 360 ppi in resolution, preferably in EPS format, although TIFF files are also acceptable. JPEGs, though acceptable, should be avoided as the JPEG file format is a lossy compression- that is, image detail and clarity are sacrificed for smaller file sizes. A good general rule of thumb when considering sending a digital image is that if it can fit on a floppy, unless it is to print as a very small image, is probably unsuitable for professional printing. We work in a PC environment, however, properly saved, Macintosh files can be used - please call for details. PROFESSIONAL PHOTO COLOR CORRECTION, RETOUCH AND DIGITAL MANIPULATION SERVICES are available through TechniGraphics Printing Specialties. We include basic color correction and retouch of minor flaws with our products. Extensive retouch or manipulation is billed hourly and we will be happy to discuss costs for special photo effects and design once we have received your photo and order.

2. COPYRIGHT RELEASE: (IF APPLICABLE) We strongly recommend using a professional photographer. When arranging your photo shoot be sure to discuss copyrights BEFORE you have your photos taken. Most photographers will provide you with a release for printing. Be sure to get an unlimited release for use in any form of printed or web reproduction as you will not want to have to secure a release for each printing or other media application. A COPYRIGHT RELEASE FORM MAY BE DOWNLOADED BY CLICKING HERE, and may be printed from your computer as needed. Should your photographer have any questions concerning such a release please extend our offer to call us at our toll free number to discuss the release. Please respect your photographers copyrights and secure a release. As TechniGraphics cannot know in all cases whether or not such supplied material is protected, you are responsible for securing releases for ANY material submitted for reproduction on our printed or other media products. TechniGraphics assumes that all materials, marked or unmarked with copyrights, that are submitted are with the permission of the legal owner. Your photographer may charge you a higher rate then normal when selling photographic services where such releases are involved. Package prices or special price offers are normally excluded when media releases or customer photo ownership are required. Be sure when getting a price quote from your photographer that he or she is aware of your need for a release or ownership of the photo.

3. COPY FOR TYPESETTING: (or SUPPLIED COMPUTER FILES.) To avoid unnecessary delays we suggest that you typewrite or carefully hand print copy for your order. Although we guarantee our work and will not hold you responsible for typesetting errors or omissions even after you have given us your approval to print, you will face significant delays in receiving your order if we must reprint it. Please examine your proof carefully WORD for WORD to make sure all is correct before giving your approval! Proofs may be sent via Fax, E-Mail, or viewed on the web a www.tps-pac.com. We can also mail you a proof if you do not have a fax or access to the web or e-mail. Due to the time required your order may be delayed in scheduling when proofs are sent by regular mail. NOTE: Many quick print and office supply stores offer fax services that are very reasonable and we will be happy to fax to a commercial service for your convenience

4. LAYOUT INSTRUCTIONS: If you wish you may send your own exact or rough design for us to follow or we will design the card for you. If you have designed your cards on your home computer you may send us a print of your design and we will follow it as closely as possible. If we do not have a specific type face or font that you require we will purchase it and bill you at cost for the font. Due to copyright restrictions TechniGraphics must own the font in order to use it on your order. As there are other options available where special fonts are required we recommend that you discuss this aspect with us, if applicable, at the time you place your order. You may also send computer files if you have Adobe Illustrator 10.0 and Photoshop 7.0 or earlier version. Please contact us for file formats and layouts. We have layout files for PC ready for customer use which may be e-mailed or sent on disk. We offer reduced pricing for orders done from supplied PC files prepared to our formats. Mac files may be usable if prepared correctly. Please contact our staff to discuss options and limitations.

5. SECURELY PACKAGE ALL MATERIALS FOR SHIPPING: SEND PHOTO, TYPESET COPY & COPYRIGHT RELEASE (IF APPLICABLE) and any special copy or instructions. Ship in a package or envelope large enough that you do not fold photos or other copy to be reproduced on your order. We recommend using US Mail 2nd day priority letter mailers or UPS or Federal Express letter packages. These carriers offer free letter envelopes that are sturdy enough to provide reasonable protection for you photos etc. Be sure to INCLUDE YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS with your order as well as phone numbers and best times to contact you.
